Register for Summer Activities in Norfolk, Virginia

There is still time to register for some fun summer activities in the city of Norfolk. Although many youth programs and events fill up fast, there are several opportunities remaining to register for classes, nature walks, tennis tournaments, and other additional free activities this summer. Just take a look below and click the red 'Free Registration' or 'Paid Registration' button to get more info and register.
Join the Outdoor Rec team at Lakewood Park anytime from 10 am to 1 pm to take a bird-themed nature walk and journal! Make sure to keep an eye out for the Outdoor Adventure Program sign and when arriving to the park! Two weeks out of the month, the Norfolk Park Rangers will join from 2pm to 4pm to talk about conservation. Online registration secures a spot in the program for the entire month.

SOAR After School Program runs during the Norfolk Public Schools calendar. Participants are able to engage in recreational activities after school, field trips and other fun activities. Programs hours are from dismissal of school, to 6pm. Program is closed on days that school is closed (Holidays, teacher workdays, inclement weather, etc..).

Play some fun outdoor rec games at Northside Park! Games include soccer, cornhole, archery, volleyball, and more! Please bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing. Make sure to keep an eye out for the Outdoor Rec table and Rec N' Roll sign when arriving to the park! The table will be located next to the playground.

Date: May 3, 2024 - May 31, 2024
Location: Tennis Court 1 - Northside Park
Tournament-style tennis event. No previous experience is required, and equipment is provided. Mini lesson will be given before games begin and games can be played singles or doubles style.

Join the Norfolk Explorers Summer Camp and participate in age-appropriate recreational activities such as themed based weeks, crafts, stem/science, field trips, guest presenters, active play/sports, swimming and outdoor nature discovery/play. Breakfast and lunch included in the total cost however, participants are welcomed to bring their own meals. Please contact your local community or recreation facility for more information regarding special accommodations, dietary restrictions or concerns. Must be a Norfolk resident to register.
